Descript

What it does

Descript is a video and audio editor with an AI co-editor and tools for turning longer recordings into editable social clips. Its clip template describes creating captions and adapting videos for different aspect ratios.

Who it suits

It may suit a marketer repurposing interviews, webinars or podcasts who also wants to edit the result rather than simply export an automatic cut. The free allowance provides a limited starting point; check the selected moments, captions and visual framing before publishing. A team that relies heavily on AI editing should compare both media hours and credits.

Pricing and limits

The free plan lists 100 one-time AI credits per editor and limited Underlord access. Hobbyist is $24 per person per month on monthly billing, or $16 per person per month billed annually, with 400 AI credits per month. AI features consume credits and plan limits apply.
